This printable Viking market game lets students experience a bit about what life was like in the Viking Age. By playing the game, they will learn about bartering and hacksilver, where Viking settled and traded, the goods that were traded from each area as well as the definition of a surplus and a shortage - all in a fun and engaging way.

To play the game, students will divide into ten groups representing ten Viking characters from the different places Vikings traded. They will have tickets that represent items they can trade, and spaces for specific items they need to get in a certain time period. At the end of the time, the groups who have obtained all the items they need can get extra points for collecting hacksilver.

Optionally, students can set up "stalls" in the classroom, make signs, and wear costumes.
