Beowulf: The Words of Wiglaf

Beowulf is the oldest surviving epic poem written in the English language and one of the greatest stories of heroism ever told. Set in the world of Anglo-Saxon warriors, mead halls, monsters, dragons, and treasure hoards, it explores timeless themes of courage, loyalty, leadership, and legacy.

In this retelling, the story is narrated by Wiglaf, Beowulf's final loyal warrior, who witnessed the events of the epic firsthand. Through his eyes, students follow Beowulf's journey from celebrated hero to aging king, while exploring the myths, legends, and values that shaped the early medieval world.
